G'day guys n Gals, I'm having trouble getting security codes to match between the BEM and PCM on a AUIII... The workshop manual states that you must close doors, acc's off and then turn ignition of for 61 minutes.... I've tried this several times but with no success.. The Engine is sitting on a stand atm with engine bay harness and dash harnes. Both computers and all sensors are hooked up/plugged in, and an instrument panel aswell.... It's definately smartshield related (Smartshield indiccator etc)...
I read that I can take it to a dealer where they use an NGS tester but as the engine is one a stand that will prove rather dificult... Has anyone found a way around this problem without buying aftermarket ecu's etc? Thanks, Brian |

It's probably because one or more of the doors are "Open". How have you got it tricked into thinking the doors are closed?
