I have just changed my brake master cyclinder after a suspected rear piston failure (pedal was hard, removed rear line and no pressure). I have now installed a new master cyclinder, and bled the rear brakes. Thanks to some good advice I changed the rear rotors noticed that the caliper would not depress, I checked the rear line and found that even when the rear line was disconnected from the brake cyclinder the pedal will not depress ( front still connected). Is it possible that a have a second failed master cyclinder. Or is there another reason why the pedal will not depress and fluid will not bleed???

if you disconnect the line from the master cylinder, can you blow compressed air through it? does the car have abs or not?

will fluid come out of the master with the rear lines disconnected? you do know it's harder to bleed the abs system compared to a normal system? and you said above you replaced the master and bled the system, then you couldn't bleed the system because the pedal wouldn't move...which one is it? did you bleed it or not?

For the record I bled master and then when I tried to bleed the lines the pedal would not move. I have just changed the master cyclinder and all is working well...
Does anybody know is Au master cyclinder is known for rear piston problems?? |
