roughly how much fluid would i need to add? I think they hold 10lts but not all of it comes out when u take the pan off? also is it possible to fit a dipstick to this box? I figure id need to have the box out of the car at the time, take the pan off and maybe the valve body....anyone done this? |

I've had a dipstick installed on an AU when the gearbox was out getting a rebuild. From memory, they drilled into the casing.

Around $50 should cover new filter and oil
Paid about $18 at Burson's (trade price) for filter, oil is about $25 for 4 litres Just doing a drop the pan change the filter and refill will get out 4-5 litres Just have car level and fill until oil comes out fill hole, start engine, make sure gears engage properly, (foot on brakes obviously), then recheck, usually you need to add a little bit more. Dipstick can be added but needs to be drilled in |

You can buy a trans service kit that has a new pan gasket and all the bits you need apart from the fluid for about $30.
