Default buying a car interstate

I'm buying a car interstate and it's being diliverd to me by the seller, who wants $300 before he leaves for trailor higher etc I'm just wondering what details I should get off him first

the first thing that comes to my mind is, have you paid for the said car and is it covered by insurance for the trip down.

no havnt paid anything yet car is only worth like 2k so no I don't think it's coverd

anyone else brought a car from interstate and no what to ask for, im just worried ill give him my money and never get it back or see the car again, i might just ask for:
adress
name
contact details
licence number
???
