Hi 4dlvr, Yes you get 10 attempts with putting in codes, after the ten attempts if a correct code is not entered it locks permantly which then needs to be taken to your local ford dealer to be reprogrammed, if you get 2 codes wrong you then have to wait 30 minutes to try another code, then another 2 code attempts then if another 2 in- correct codes are entered its 1 hour so forth until you use out your whole ten attempts, after this it 'perm locks' and it should say 'LOCKED' on the screen instead of 'CODE _ _ _ _' what we had to have done was ring our ford dealer, then we gave them the rego number and VIN number, they typed it into the system and all it said was '0000' thats because they all need VIN and serial number which is on the side of the CD player so then we had to get the cd player slipped out, then they got the serial number, then since there system was down, they waited for them to come available again typed our VIN and serial number in it cam up with our code, they rang and gave it to us, i typed it in, BINGO!, but your've perm-a-locked yours so go see your dealer, hope that helps Cheers j
