Question Email Introducing FG 2

I got an email ,today, about the FG2. The DRL's look tacked on, on the G6E. Much prefer the fog lights on the G6. No option to fit fog lights on the G6E??
They should have done a Focus/Mondeo DRL's and left the fogs insitu.!!!

I didn't even think they were DRLs? Don't they only come on when the headlights are switched on?

I got the same email, and the DRL's/foglights/whatever was the furthest thing from my mind.

Questions I have are 1) how could they expect anyone to be even remotely interested in such an useless email with next to no content and 2) the FGII was released last year and they're only sending emails about it now??!

Thats the first thing that I thought of, its been on sale since November and they are only sending out emails promoting it now?

Good work Ford PR

Probably another one of Graziano's agendas.

Not necessarily.

From FoMoCo's point of view, Graziano is probably doing exactly what they sent him here to do.

I didnt think that ^^^(what was mentioned in the posts before Lukes) one little bit. Why are people so negative in this forum whenever Ford does something? Why do these emails only have to come when the new model is first released?

I got the emails today as well, one for the sedan and one for the ute. I thought it was timed so to also co-incide with the introduction of the ecoboost which according to the email will be in Q2 (not too far away now), as they did mention the engine options of the FGII and its increased efficiencies.

There was nothing negative at all in my post. Gobes32 said that it was 'worst management ever'. All I said was that that may not be the case. Graziano may be meeting all his KPIs. Don't mistake being realistic with negativity. They are two very separate things.

An example of Negativity: Falcon's are crap, they don't offer enough options etc etc
An example of Realism: Falcon may not be around for too much longer.

I love Ford and I love the Falcon. Geez, check out the cars in my sig.

Ecoboost has been delayed again and is still months away, so has no relevance to that. Why wouldn't you send out emails about your new model when you actually release it, not months down the track.

No auto manufacturer is that stupid as to not promote their new product till months after its released. Ford's marketing department are either completely brain dead or are being nobbled to help kill off Falcon as a directive from Ford HQ.

I think its just a reminder to the potential customers that the Ecoboost is still coming, so keep them aware of this. And new vehicles aren't only ordered when the new model is released. Customers keep a list of potential vehicles to consider when it comes time for replacement, hence they should be kept informed.

And if they are wanting to kill off the Falcon, why are they spending/spent so much on the EcoLPi and Ecoboost systems for the Falcon then? Very confusing if that is the real intention.

EcoLPi and Ecoboost were funded and development was well down the track before Graziano was sent here on his mission. LPi was nearly fully done.

A scant email is not genuine advertising.

If anything it's more like so much other junkmail that gets filtered out.

When Bureal was here, didn't he use to do monthly meetings with the media to discuss sales numbers & this usually created good media releases.. I use to look for to these articles as good stuff was said & writen. Does this new guy still do that?

What Ford should do is announce actual release dates, FG2 has been around since last november No actual release dates for Ecoboost. Ford need to restart the FG2 campaign, set actual release dates for FG2, EcoLpi, Ecoboost, not "coming second quarter 2012"..thats all airy fairy.. I am not bagging Ford, their production division is being severely let down by their marketing division. A classic example of "the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing."

Burela was moved because he wasn't a lap dog who rolled over and did whatever he was told by Detroit. He was genuinely fighting for Ford Australia, and he was doing a great job, sales actually improved while he was here. Thats why he was removed and sent elsewhere, he was too much of a pain in the backside for Detroit, they wanted someone who will do what he's told, hence a yank lap dog was sent to replace him.

One thing i've noticed is when aussies are put in charge, the company flourishes, because they genuinely care and have affection for the place, but when yanks come in they just see it as their next promotion and a quicker way to the top, and the business suffers because of it.

Do you know what has caused the further delay and which month is now likely - not sure I can wait, might have to go for something else

Respectfully, that wasn't the reason and Burela is most certainly a company man.

Demand overseas has priority over our Falcon variant, apparently Europe is supplying USA until their plants are up and running.

The difference is that the local guys know how to work within the system to achieve company objectives,
The foreign CEOs don't have that unique perspective and just default to best company practice like a section of FNA.

Let's not forget that when Gorman looked at the V6 engine, FoA did not have any emissions
modelling data on on which to base Euro 4 compliance, that came later with a program meant for T6.

Gorman's plan for Focus in Australia was basically what you see Holden doing with Cruze but as we see
Ford deals with lower production rates and I guess that those skinny numbers were not substantial
enough to justify moving production to Australia when Thailand offered a big cost advantage.
To Burela's credit, Focus production remained in FAPA, Falcon sales were increased temporarily
and any action on Falcon was deferred for at least four years by keeping I-6 in Euro 4.

Burela became a local hero by basically keeping the good ship I-6 Falcon steaming along
and leaving the hard decision to one of his successors...

Transformation of territory has been nothing but astounding and if FoA can capture that sort
of interest in Falcon Ecoboost and EcoLPI, then things might just swing back their way........

Yep, EcoBoost advertising on the FPR cars. With a Ford FPR 1-2 at the Clipsal 500, that makes a solid omen in my book for the EcoBoost Falcon!

Larkham was mentioning the EcoBoost logos during the coverage until there was some action on track and Skaife jumped in / talked over him.

Still, EcoBoost branded Falcons were 1st and 2nd with Ford leading the Championship and winning the round.
