Any auto body supply place wil be able to do it, its just an matting agent to normat paint. why do you want clear over? I dont believe it will add anything.

A flat clear will tend to go milky too.

You probably wont get a 1 litre of satin black off the shelf in a crash supply paint shop. I suppose your using a spray gun ??? you might have to buy 1 litre of flattening base and add it bit by bit to the black acrylic laquer then do a spray out on a matching plate let it dry and see if you have reached what flattening you want LG17 Was right about the clear going milky forget that and also like JP blue said it wont add Anything over your black satin /semi gloss paint he is dead right waste of time if that's what you were thinking of doing . also stirr the flattening base in well with a flat stick ruler if you have one forget the screw driver as a stirrer wont do sh.t

Well this is my first time painting the vehicle, so i opted for Acrylic and thought the clear would be better for weather / scratch protection? i could be wrong.
I'll go over to the autoshop and ask them about the flatenning agent, i thought they just sell the lacquer in a tin and you just mix it with1 part go 1.5 of thinner and spray. Just to check also with you guys should i wet sand it during coats with a 1500 / 1600 grit sand paper on a flat block or just do it after i've put down the coats and buff it? |

No. You don't sand and/or buff satin and matt finish paints...it will make it shiny!

acrylic satin black without a clear won't last if its out in the weather a lot.
Its also painful to keep 'clean' it scuffs easy.

Well, I wanted to do it 2 pack paint but people say that this cannot be done without proper safety and a proper booth.
![]() There are much more colours to choose from and probably it will come out alot nicer but then I don't want my neighbours complaining, they can get abit nosey. |
