Tracking a Ford SIDO Number - somebody must know

Thinking about everyone out there who have placed an order for a new FGX XR8 and have received there SIDO number or the new Dealer Order Number for there purchase.

Does anyone out there in Ford Forums Land know of a way that this number can be tracked through Ford for status updates and stage of manufacture etc? (like tracking a parcel). Is there a website or app available or something else?

I remember years ago that you used to be able to get images of your car being made by using your SIDO number.

Maybe someone in Ford's customer service section, have you tried that ?

Here we go. I just received an email from Ford Aus providing me with a status update for my car. It seems that it will show you when it goes into build and then when it is transit to your dealer - how cool is that

I'm yet to receive the build status update email even though I have chased up my dealer today and he has told me my ca, XR8 will be an April build.

Interested to know too if the SIDO he has given me is correct and if there is a way to check.

The SIDO I've been given is alphanumeric whereas others have quoted there's as only numeric......is that right? What else could he have given me?

I didn't get any emails, but I did get a follow up one this morning congratulating me on the purchase, and advising of the owners portal and other services available.

SIDO should be 6 numbers, letters don't sound right. Mine was a 959XXX number, so I suspect they would be into the 96XXXX by now.

Thanks FGX335, I think it might have been your post about the SIDO I had seen somewhere that made me thing it should be a six digit number.

Time for follow up with my dealer.....

nice touch on the follow up congratulatory email from ford....and an owners portal? anything worth noting?

At the time my dealer had my allocation he updated my sales order contract with the information including the SIDO number 991631 and a number from their new system NSC factory order number C638.

The factory order number was printed on the Sales order contract but the SIDO number handwritten (as I understand this system is being phased out)

Not really, you can access it directly through Ford's page, you don't need a special link. But without a valid VIN, there isn't much point to it.

Ahh, so that's the number I have, an NSC number. Looks very similar to your number pwr4c. Thanks!
Guess I shouldn't be so paranoid.
Now if only there was a way to track the build online........

I have got mine yesterday from the dealer NSC number and SIDO number also what does that mean
