My EF has been idling low and rough and hunting for a while.
I changed the spark plugs, tested the TPS (works perfectly,) cleaned the ICS and throttle body. None of which helped. I reset the ECU (removed battery leads.) Started her up and voila, nice smooth idle. It's fixed! I thought. One week later and the EF's back to it's old tricks. Which makes me think that the ECU is learning how to idle badly. Why would it do this? Where do I start to rectify this problem? I'm stumped. |

what mods have you done? cam swaps etc?
TBH it could be anything from low fuel pressures, to the TPS idle voltage being too high, and everything in between inc. leaking gaskets and vacuum lines! Usually the missus's EF likes to learn how to idle, but you can set a base idle by disconnecting the ISC and screwing in the idle screw to get an idle 750-800rpm in park. Should smooth it out a bit |
