I would like to know what everyone else gets out of their car as far as fuel efficiency goes. If you could all please put down the model falcon (ie xr6, xr8, I6, V8, vct etc) and approx how many km's per tank for town and highway.

AUIII Futura
Cat back 2.5" Generally mid to high 500kms... Last tank, trip was on 0kms to empty and I had 597kms... So I was happy with that on normal unleaded! Country driving, made it to Melbourne (800km) easily with cruise on 110km/h ish all the way from Adelaide with 2 people and luggage. Will be interesting to see what everyone else has! |

Get about 350k around town with a bit of country from 65litres LPG. On unleaded I'm not sure cause I don't use enough of it to find out.

Just took my BA monte down to Vic and brought back an AU3 XLS Ute.
BA highway 740km (65l tank) AU highway 850km (82l tank) AU 3 XR8 highway 750km (65l tank) Around town is obviously a different story but all 3 got between 550 and 600 usually unless i was being silly.

T3 ... enlarged cats and middle mufflers.
With standard Ford 95 RON tune about 650 to 700 km depending on which highway. With 98 RON tune (via edit) 700 to 800 km. On ULP (92 RON) tune (via edit) about the same as standard tune. I always take on a full tank of 68 litres. I don't live in town so don't really have accurate city figures. However when I do go to Sydney and drive around for a day and then return home my overall average economy for the day drops to about 12.5 l/100km which would be around 540km for a tank. So by extrapolation I would say probably around 400km to a full tank if it was all city driving. |

Im in Adelaide and I pay between $80-$90 for a tank of fuel a week... I push high 500kms to a tank... With people pushing 400kms to a tank, I would be
1 - Really ****ed with economy and delve into buying a V8, which is comparible fuel economy... 2 - Consider changing driving style... If some of us can squeeze 500kms plus, why cant others? Surely its not the cars?? |

2002 AU III XR6 VCT ST
Mix of highway and city on performance - 400-420 Mix of highway and city on economy - 350-380 Highway on performance - 450 Highway on economy - 410 Anyone see a problem with those patterns.... :S Adaptive is the best, although I never use it lol! |

AUIII XR6 Auto
580-620k per tank (combo of hwy/suburbs) before mods. Same after mods according to trip meter but it's about 19% out due to diff ratio change. In other words, if I changed my diff ratio back to standard, I would have the same economy as before, provided I drive sensibly.

suburban driving 400-500 ks
highway driving the only major run i`ve been on did 760 ks to tank in summmer using aircon etc so in ideal conditions maybe more ks could be squeezed out (running on cruise) the only mods are v8 snorkel and 3" cat back |

AU & BA economy are not comparable. BA is heavier, and has dual VCT. AU is OHC, and in best variant of the I6, VCT. The V8s are real engines 5.0 or 5.6 of pushrod grunt. Our AU wagon gets around 14 or so per 100 so a BA between 14 & 15 seems about right to me.
