Just bid your maximum price now. It will only go up the minimum bid but will keep going up till it reaches the limit if others try to out bid you.

use a big sniper program. I've never used one, but heard of others using them.
It waits until the closing seconds of the auction to place higher bids. It'll do exactly what you're looking for. Something like this: http://www.powersnipe.com |

Just bid the maximum that you're prepared to pay, and forget about it. Ebay automatically uses 'proxy' bidding on your behalf, whereby it will only pay as much as it has to to win the item on your behalf. The only way you can be outbid is if someone else has a bigger budget than you. Even a sniper has to have a set maximum, so they are a waste of time. Just set (your budget) and forget.
It helps to remember that, no matter what you've set your heart on purchasing, there is always another one... so don't fret if you miss out, just wait for the next one to come along. Ebay also has programmable seach functions that will send you an email whenever something that matches your criteria is listed. If you like to bid in increments for the 'sport', by all means enjoy it but a sniper will probably nail you while you're busily reloading the page and propping up your bid $5 at a time... lol Another tip - purposely include typos as part of your search criteria, there are a lot of dopey people listing things all the time... just have a look around this forum for numerous examples of how shocking some users grammar can be. It is surprising what you can sometimes find using 'Falcan', for example...

I dont really agree with the statement about snipers "so they are a waste of time"
WHen you bid normally using eBay, the bid is placed straight away, and everyone else watching knows that you are interested in the item. It also bumps up0 the price straight away. Sniping allows you to sneak in at the last moment and keep the price as low as possible.

Snipers are very useful, especially if you know there is no way you can make the auction time...
Get one that lets you have an amount of free auction snipes unless you buy heaps of stuff; go for a time frame... But I would never actually pay for it that would be stupid ![]()

Dont bid early and forget, thats the WRONG way of bidding on ebay. All that does is drive the price up to the point you could probably get it cheaper somewhere else. Snipers may need to set a maximum , but they are deathly fast at coming in at the last 12 seconds of an auction, rarely would the maximum be reached. But they CAN be beaten. Last minute bidding is the only way to go . I dont use a sniper , i use FireFox and two tabs open. ![]() The tip about typos is a very vaslid one, although you wont find many. If your using ebay. au think about the best time to buy.. Is it between 3 and 7 pm? Whos home at that time? Is it between 6 and 8 am? maybe.. When is the best time to sell? Weekends or weekday. think about that , think about the typos and ebay n00bs, you will come up with your answer ;) |
